A Pashmina is defined as an article made from a very fine wool - ideally this should be cashmere. There is no official guideline or standard for what constitutes a Pashmina and often people associate shawls, stoles and scarves with tassels (though not a requirement) as being a Pashmina.
Cashmere is a wool that is very fine in texture. For the wool to be classified as cashmere it needs to be produced by a genuine Cashmere goat and the fibre needs to fulfill certain diameter requirements.
We at Jupi regularly have our products tested by a leading agency (SGS) to ensure that our customers can remain confident of purchasing the genuine article.
These 3 terms are essentially an indication of a product's size and generally defined by how they typically would be worn. Of course, there is no hard and fast rule; any item can be worn in any way you like.
Descending in size:
- A shawl - The largest of the three, it is sized to be worn around the shoulders though is often preferred as a noose around the neck. Ours are 70 x 200 cm or larger.
- A stole - Designed to be draped around the shoulders, like the shawl however, they can double up as a scarf.
- A scarf - These are specifically made to be worn around the neck. Our sizes vary according to the style.
As with all items made from a delicate fabric, please treat your Pashmina with care. In particular:
- Avoid exposure to the rain as this may leave a stain.
- Avoid leaving your Pashmina under strong lights for a prolonged period of time as this may cause it to fade.
- Always check the cleaning instructions - this is clearly displayed for each item in our site and also on the reverse of the label attached to all our products. Items that are hand washable should always be line dried.
Unfortunately we are not able to apply the personalisation feature to all products because of their texture or pre-existing embroideries that may be in place.
This depends on the region to which your order is being sent. Please see delivery and returns for further information.
Not to worry, we understand that monitors vary in their display and may not be able to provide a totally accurate reflection of the product's colour.
